This ISO Conversion Kit replaces John Deere RE206778 and converts John Deere 20, 30, and 40 series to Pioneer ISO Standard couplers. This kit provides everything you need to complete your job.
After using John Deere style conversion kits and being unhappy with leaks and extra moving parts, we went about researching and designing a simple adapter that allows us to use the modern couplers that are on many newer John Deere tractors. The couplers that we use and sell in our kits are genuine Faster brand couplers. Since July of 2018, we have installed close to one hundred of these kits with our customers being very happy with the results.
To install your new kit, remove the old parts and the old seals and clean the SCV housings. Install flat backup ring in the far back and the far front of the original John Deere housing with the o-rings in-between. We include one extra o-ring and backup ring per kit. When installing backup rings and o-rings make sure the backup ring does not lay over and get under the o-ring.
We put a screwdriver or punch through the hole in the special adapter and tighten the coupler, sometimes we put a little Loctite on the threads so they don't loosen. Make sure there are no nicks or edges that will cut your new o-rings. Seat the couplers, and install and tighten the 3/8 X 5/8 bolt and special washer. Replace freeze out cap and you are finished.
Replace the quick coupler with AL166181 couplers should the couplers fail.
